In Production: Latino Youth & Sexuality Series
 BODY REPUBLIC (Working title)

BODY REPUBLIC is a short documentary that explores and advocates for progressive policies to protect Latino youth's sexual and reproductive rights and encourage educational attainment. We hope our film will advance a paradigm shift that reframes Latina/o youth sexuality and advances the field of reproductive justice.

The goal of our film is to:

To advocate for policies that protect Latino youth's sexual and reproductive rights and support educational attainment.

We hope to accomplish this goal by:

  • Showing how policies have systematically stigmatized and controlled sexual health and reproductive rights, and curtailed educational opportunities with a focus on Latino/a youth
  • Spotlighting existing policies, initiatives, and programs that have the potential to protect Latino/a youth and offer opportunities for engagement and action
  • Presenting additional innovative policies that empower youth to make the best choices for themselves, support youth sexuality, pregnancy and educational attainment from an assets perspective.
We hope this film will be a tool for Latino sexual health advocates to mobilize and organize constituents and educate policy makers in an effort to advance instrumental changes that support Latino youth sexual health and educational attainment.
