Research
HEI is a cross-college research-centered institute dedicated to advancing health. Our faculty have active research partnership with colleagues throughout the U.S., internationally, and with student involvement. Health Equity research is interdisciplinary, focused on generating and sharing research in community.
Student Training
A Student-Scholar Program provides faculty-student research opportunities with a leadership and development seminar. HEI holds an annual student research showcase. HEI faculty also support students through independent studies, lab experience, and job opportunities funded by grants and awards. HEI students are prepared for careers in academia, non-profit leadership, and technology and biomedical fields.
Campus and Community Engagement:
The Health Equity Institute prioritizes active engagement with campus and community partners. HEI is committed to fostering strong partnerships with community-based organizations, policymakers, and healthcare providers, ensuring that the research we conduct and the programs we develop are directly informed by and responsive to the needs of our communities.
